The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will give $310m loan for boosting of the power sector in Bangladesh, a deal was signed in this regard on Tuesday.
This is the second tranche of payment under Power System Expansion and Efficiency Improvement Investment Programme, amounting to $1.2b.
ADB’s Dhaka mission in-charge Stefan Ekelund and Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited’s Mohammad Nazrul Hassan signed the deal.
The fund will be used to expand the network of the state-run power company in the north and south zone under the DPDC.
DPDC will be in charge of constructing seven 132KV power stations and sixteen 33/11KV power sub-stations with the fund under this project.
