Sobhan Sikder PM’s principal secretary

Abdus Sobhan Sikder, senior secretary of the Public Administration Ministry, has been appointed as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s principal secretary.

Earlier, he worked as the director general of Bangladesh Rural Development Board. He was also the acting secretary of Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) and Ministry of Shipping.

He was transferred as home secretary on 8 March, 2009.

Abdus Sobhan Sikder, officer of batch 81, was born on February 16, 1956 in Barisal.

He will go for post-retirement leave (PRL) on February 16, 2015.  

The government has also made several changes in the civil administration through the latest reshuffle.

The Public Administration Ministry issued an order in this regard on Tuesday afternoon.

Education Secretary Dr Kamal Adbul Naser has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Administration as senior secretary.

Dhaka Additional Divisional Commissioner Mokhlesur Rahman has been transferred to the Election Commission as additional secretary.

Dr Mohammed Sadiq, secretary at Election Commission Secretariat, has been appointed as education secretary.

Addition Secretary of Election Commission Sirajul Islam has been appointed as additional acting secretary of Election Commission.

Prime Minister’s former principal secretary Shaikh Md Wahid-uz-Zaman will soon be going into PRL.
