Education minister visits exam hall

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid visited the SSC examination hall at Motijheel Boys’ School in the capital on Sunday morning; the first day of the SSC examinations.

While visiting the examination hall, the minister exchanged greetings with the examinees and expressed concerns about the students and their SSC results.

On behalf of the students and their parents, Nahid urged all political parties to refrain from holding any agitation programme during the examinations.

“I am urging all political parties not to hold any programme during the SSC exam which may hamper the student’s concentration,” said Nahid.

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for 2014 began across the country at 10am today.

A total of 1,432,727 students are set to appear in the examinations held at 2, 942 centres. Of them, 733,202 are male and 699,525 are female.

During a press conference on Saturday, Education Minister NurulIslam Nahid said every preparation had been made for the examination to be held without any hindrance.
