Awami League would not hold any dialogue with BNP if they did not recognize the AL-led incumbent government as legal.
AL Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif made the comment while answering to reporters after addressing party’s workshop on upcoming upazila polls in Kurigram on Saturday, reported BSS.
“BNP should take the decision first to initiate much-talked about dialogue but they should accept the AL-led incumbent government, otherwise its not possible to arrange a talk with them,” said Hanif.
Refuting the interim polls, he said: “AL never bows to any external pressure as the party always prefers people’s desires and sovereignty instead of the ‘pressure’.”
Hanif also said Jamaat had already become a terrorist organisation and a case had been field before the court to ban their politics.
A good number of local AL leaders also attended the workshop.
