Boy risks life to save baby deer

Update : 06 Feb 2014, 01:17 PM

Belal, a teenager from Noakhali, fearlessly risked his own life and displayed overwhelming bravery and compassion to save a baby deer from drowning.

Belal defiantly held the fawn above his head and swam ashore to save the baby deer from drowning in flash flood during a recent monsoon season.

The baby deer was separated from its family during the flood, Dilay Mail reported. Wildlife photographer Hasibul Wahab captured photographs of the rescue.

“He was such a brave boy – the river was full of water and it was high tide so we thought he might drown,” Hasibul Wahab said.

“There were only five to seven people to observe this situation, but it was an overwhelming sight.”

The fawn was later reunited with its family.
