Update : 06 Feb 2014, 06:17 AM

A Bangladeshi national was beaten to death by Indian nationals at Golpara village in India early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam, 33, son of Abdul Latif residence of Ufarmara Telipara village.

Quoting a message sent by BSF, Burimari Border Guard Bangladesh Company Camp Commander Subedar Abdul Hamid said: “Locals caught Aminul Islam with two stolen cattle at India's Golpara village and gave him beating, killing him on the spot.”

Later, the Indian Border Security Force recovered the dead body around 2:30am and sent it to India's Mekhliganj Hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, Aminul’s family members and local people claimed that he was not a cattle thief but a cattle trader.

Victim's father Abdul Latif said he had gone to India on Wednesday evening to bring India cattle and was caught by Indian smugglers and given mob beating.

Subedar Abdul Hamid said a protest letter has already been send to BSF on Thursday morning regarding the incident of the killing and to bring back the body.

He said: “BGB will hand over the dead body to the family members when BSF returns it after post mortem.”
