The Indian police have arrested five Bangladeshi nationals from Khosalpur border area under Moheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah.
The arrestees were identified as Babul Mandal, Chhuti Mandal, Sultan Ahmed, Tuhin and Kamal Hossain of village Mailbaria under Moheshpur upazila.
Kushumpur camp Commander of the Border Guard Bangladesh Subeder Shahid Hossain said the Indian police arrested the Bangladeshi nationals when they entered Indian Territory crossing about 500 yards of the barbed wire around 4am on Tuesday.
He said a flag meeting was held on Tuesday morning between the two counterparts to bring the five Bangladeshi nationals.
“The Indian counterpart has informed us that the detainees would be brought back after holding legal proceedings as they were arrested by the police,” he added.
