10 gold bars seized at Chittagong airport

Customs officers seized 10 gold bars from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong on Tuesday morning.

Airport sources said the gold bars were recovered from the luggage of two passengers of a Bangladesh Biman flight that had returned from Dubai at 10am. Four gold bars were recovered from one passenger while the other six were recovered from the other passengers.

Chittagong customs Assistant Commissioner Mosiur Rahman Mondol said the bars weigh around 1kg and their estimated prime is around Tk46 lakh.

However, no one was detained in connection to the incident.
