The High Court directed authorities to transfer the investigation of Kishoreganj bank loot case to elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) within 48-hours.
Bench of Justice Quaze Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain passed the order on Monday in response to a writ petition.
The bench sought why an order will not be passed for a probe for any militant affiliation to the incident of looting over Tk16 crore from Kishoreganj Sonali Bank Limited.
It also sought answers to why the masterminds will not be ordered to be brought to book.
The home secretary, director general of RAB, inspector general of police, DMP police commissioner and Kishoreganj police superintendent were made respondents.
Lawyer Manjur Morshed argued in favour of the petitioner Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh. Deputy Attorney General Biswajit Roy represented state.
