Seven devotees of Biswa Ijtema have been killed and 16 others injured as a bus rammed a human hauler at Amtoli area under Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh district on Saturday night
The deceased were identified as Akram Hossain, Ashraf Ali, Shahjahan Mia, Shirajul Islam, Abdus Salam, Liton Mia and Helal Uddin. They are the residents of Raimoni and Narayanpur villages under Trishal upazila.
Bhaluka model police station Officer-in-charge Abdul Motaleb said: “A human hauler carrying some 12 to 13 devotees to the Biswa Ijtema fell into a roadside ditch when a bus of Square Fashion carrying labourers knocked it down at Amtoli area, killing three on the spot and injuring 20 others.
He said: “Amongst the injured, three succumbed to their injuries when rushed to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex while another died on way to Mymensingh Medical College.”
