Four shops were gutted in a fire that sparked from short circuit in Sardaganj area of Gazipur city in the early hours of Saturday.
Short circuit sparked a fire in Sultan Market area around 5am, Savar EPZ Fire Service and Civil Defense Senior Station Officer Hamid Mia said.
Two fire fighting units doused flames after almost one hour of efforts, he said. Among the two shops gutted were a homeopathy outlet and a grocery store.
Losses were primarily estimated at over Tk4 lakhs.
