Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah, MP, has been elected as the deputy speaker of the 10th parliament on Wednesday.
The new parliament went into its maiden session at 6:06pm. Fazle Rabbi was elected the deputy of Speaker Shirin Sharmin during the inaugural session of the current parliament.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Awami League Parliamentary Party has nominated him as the deputy speaker of the new house. Awami Legaue advisory panel member Tofail Ahmed endorsed the proposal to nominate Fazle Rabbi as the deputy speaker.
