Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury took oath as member of the 10th parliament on Wednesday morning.
She administered her own oath at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 10:45am.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Whip Atiur Rahman Atik, senior officials of parliament secretariat were, among others, present at the oath taking ceremony.
She has been elected Member of Parliament unopposed from Rangpur-6 constituency.
The Election Commission (EC) Tuesday published the gazette of Rangpur-6 by-election declaring Awami League candidate Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury elected.
The seat was earlier vacated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
