Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was nominated from Awami League for speaker of the 10th parliament, the Awami League Parliamentary Party decided on Tuesday.
Fazle Rabbi was nominated for the deputy speaker and Syeda Sazeda Chowdhury the deputy leader of the parliament, the meeting decided.
Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam made all the three proposals, Chief Whip ASM Feroz told the media after the meeting ended.
The parliamentary party meet of the Awami League began from 6:30pm in the evening and continued for two hours inside the parliament premises.
The proposal for speaker was endorsed by Awami League advisory council member Amir Hossain Amu and that for deputy House leader by AMA Muhith.
Awami Legaue advisory panel member Tofail Ahmed endorsed the proposal to nominate Fazle Rabbi as the deputy speaker.
