A person was burned alive in a fire at Firoz Shah Colony under Akbar Shah police station in Chittagong early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Rubel, 25.
Akbar Shah police station Officer-in-charge Mohammad Abdul Mojid confirmed about the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
Chittagong fire service control room sources said a total of nine houses and a shop were gutted in the fire originated around 2:55am.
Later, four vehicles of the fire service doused the blaze around 4:40am.
However, the fire service control room could not disclose any information about the reason behind the fire and number of causalities.
