At least two persons were killed in road accidents in Tangail and Chandpur districts yesterday.
According to Tangail correspondent, a transport leader was killed and 4 others were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a private car in Kadhim Dholla area under Mirzapur upazila on the Dhaka-Bangabandhu Bridge highway. The deceased was identified as Abdul Kader, 55, joint secretary of Gopalpur upazila unit Minibus and Bus labour union in the district.
Officer-in-Charge of Gorai Highway police Md Zobaydul Alom said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound private car collided head-on with a North Bengal-bound goods laden truck, leaving one dead on the spot and 4 injured.
The injured were admitted to Mirzapur Kumudini Medical College Hospital.
According to a Chandpur correspondent, a child was killed in an accident where a microbus hit him in front of the fire service station in Kachua upazila under the district.
The child was identified as Shah Paran, 5, of Sreerampur village.
