At least one person was killed and 24 others were injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Chonka area under Sherpur upazila in Bogra on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Ariful Rahman, the helper of the bus.
Sources said a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over its steering in Chonka area around 1:30pm, killing Ariful on the spot and injuring the others.
Confirmation about the death, Sherpur police station officer-in-charge said: “The bus might have plunged into the ditch when its front tyre exploded.”
He said the injured were rushed to different hospital’s including Bogra Sadar Hospital and Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
