Dhallywood megastar Shakib Khan has signed with Bioscopewala Productions for its upcoming feature film, Raja Handsome. Directed by Badiul Alam Khokon, the shooting of the film is scheduled to begin in March.
The production house recently announced that some of the shooting will occur in Europe, with a European-based production company possibly coming in as a co-production partner. They also confirmed that distributors in the UK and North America have already signed the film, and more countries would be added soon.
“It is a very different and unique story, something that our industry needs. I am looking forward to play the character of Raja,” shared Shakib Khan. He added: “As soon as I heard the story I loved it, especially the name of the film.”
A fast-paced action thriller, Raja Handsome is Bangladesh’s first movie about a large-scale bank heist, claimed producer Ahad Mohammad Bhai. He said: “We want to set new standards for the Bangladeshi film industry.”
Several other high profile actors and actresses have been rumored to be joining the all-star cast, yet producers still remain hush about who else has signed on to the film so far. Perhaps, they are trying to create an appeal by keeping a shroud around the details of the complete cast.
