Ganajagaran Mancha on Saturday urged upon all to form a social resistance against religious fanatics in order for a communal harmony in the country.
Imran H Sarker, spokesperson for Mancha, made the call at a rally in Shaheed Minar premises in Palashbari upazila, Gaibandha in the morning.
Ganajagaran Mancha reached Gaibandha in the morning as part of their road march against attack on the Hindu community in several parts of the country.
Sarker blamed Jamaat-e-Islami for the attacks and demanded that stern measures should be taken against them and that the victims should be compensated.
Upazila Awami League leaders Tofazzal Hossain and local Ganajagaran Mancha activist Farhad Hossain also addressed, among others, in the programme.
Later, Mancha activists visited two houses, owned by activists of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) and Jubo League, which came under attack.
Ganajagaran Mancha handed over Tk20,000 cash and other relief materials to 19 affected families in a bid to help them recoup losses.
