The government will rehabilitate the victims of arson attacks of the recent nationwide violence, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said on Saturday morning.
The government undertook the expenses of the arson victims, the minister told the media after touring the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The health minister also gave Tk5,000 each to 20 arson victims, said Dr Samanta Lal Sen, co-ordinator of DMCH burn unit.
Many died of burn injuries and several others remain injured in arson attacks ensuing from disparity between Awami League and BNP over January 5 polls.
Minister Mohammad Nasim visited the burn unit of DMCH around 11am in the morning to see the suffering victims of these arson attacks.
The minister condemned the arson attacks and assured that compensations for the dead will be provided.
