PM paid respect to Bangabandhu in Tungipara

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara, Gopalganj on Wednesday.

After placing the wreaths at the mazar at 1:50pm, the prime minister stood in solemn silence for sometime as a mark of respect to the memory of the architect of the independence.

Later flanked by ministers, state ministers of the new government and central Awami League leaders, Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League laid another wreath at the mazar of Bangabandhu on behalf of the party.

Sheikh Hasina also offered fateha at the Bangabandhu Mazar Complex and joined a munajat.

This is the premier’s first time visit to Tungipara after taking oath as prime minister of Bangladesh for the third time.

On Tuesday morning, Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar.
