The High Court on Sunday ordered the health secretary to submit all particulars of drug control committee and national drug advisory council by seven days.
The bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain passed the order following a writ petition registered by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh.
It also issued a rule asking why inertia of the respondents that caused increasing of price of drugs should not be declared illegal.
It also sought explanation why they should not be directed to control the price of medicine.
Health secretary, national drug advisory council chairman, director generals of health department and consumer rights protection department, director of drug administration and president and secretary of Bangladesh drug industry association were made respondents to the rule within three weeks.
Supreme Court lawyer Manzill Murshid stood for the petitioner while Deputy Attorney General Biswojit Roy represented the government.
