British High Commissioner Robert W Gibson said the UK would continue to support the poorest and most marginalised people in Bangladesh.
He made the declaration through a statement released in response to speculation about the UK aid programme in Bangladesh.
"The UK aid is a partnership between the people of Britain and the people of Bangladesh,” he said.
“We continue to support the poorest and most marginalised people in Bangladesh as part of our global efforts to support the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals."
Earlier, The Telegraph in a report said the UK government was reviewing its funding of aid programmes in support of Bangladesh’s parliament following the current political situation.
