Factions of government-backed workers' group, Sramik Leauge, clashed in Gazipur over what witnesses said acquiring possession of an area on Saturday morning.
Witnesses said the clash took place regarding domination over Joina Bazar tempo stand in Sreepur municipality area around 10:30am.
Regional Sramik Leauge General Secretary Mujibur Rahman claimed supporters of Telihati Union Parishad chairman attacked to take possession.
“Sramik League Joint Secretary Shamsul Haque and member Rafiqul Islam has been injured. They have been sent to a hospital in Dhaka.”
Regarding the allegations, Abdul Jalil said he heard about the clash, however denied to elaborate on the issue without “proper information.”
Sreepur police Officer-in-Charge Mohosinul Kadir said law enforcers were sent to the spot to bring situation under control.
