Bangladesh might lose partial funding from the United Kingdom in two projects in view of the prevailing political situation of the country, a report said.
A report in the UK-based Daily Telegraph published on Friday local time said that the loss in parliamentary affairs-related projects might be up to £55 million.
The Promoting Democratic Institutions and Practices project is one of the projects implemented by Asia Foundation with commitment to work within parliament to improve its transparency.
The other is one managed by the World Bank, concerned with improving parliamentary oversight of financial budgets and government audits.
In the report, Bangladesh is said to be the fourth-largest recipient of British government aid with £265 million planned for 2014-15 fiscal year.
The United Kingdom had expressed their concern regarding the parliamentary elections held on January 5.
