He said President Abdul Hamid was expected to administer the oath to the ministers at Bangabhaban, the official residence of the president, on Sunday afternoon (3:30pm).
Replying to a query whether the new government would be formed after January 24, when the ninth parliament would expair, he said: “The new government will be formed immediately after the new cabinet is sworn in.”
Earlier in the day 283 MPs, who were elected in the 10th parliamentary polls, had taken oath.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury started administering oath to the newly elected MPs at 10:10am, as the Election Commission had published the gazette on Wednesday.
The MPs from the Awami League were the first to take oath in the oath-room of the Jatiya Sangsad. The Jatiya Party MPs took oath after a short tea break, the speaker told the Dhaka Tribune.

On the other hand, after the oath taking of the new MPs, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia lost her support from the parliament secretariat and the government as the leader of the opposition, which is equivalent to the rank of a minister.
