Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday has called a dawn to dusk hartal for Thursday in the district protesting the arrest of its 77 activists, including the party’s district chief Shahabuddin Ahmed.
Jamaat leader Mohammad Alamgir Hossain confirmed the Dhaka Tribune.
Earlier in the day, police arrested the Jamaat activists for their alleged involvement with arson attack in different part of the district.
Bogra police media cell chief Assistant Police Super (ASP) Gaziur Rahman said the arrest was made from Bogra city.
According to the police source, they are charged with a number of cases.
