A garments worker in the port city of Chittagong succumbed to injuries sustained in political violence over the elections on Wednesday morning.
Rashedul Islam, 25, was on his way to his ancestral-home in Fatikchhari on a CNG auto-rickshaw from the port city a day before elections, police said.
He fell prey to pickets near the Board Madrassa area, Hathazari police Officer-in-Charge Ismail Hossain said. Rashedul was suffered severe head-wounds.
He was taken to Nazirhat Health Complex and was later taken to a local women and children's clinic where he succumbed to his injuries around 9am on Wednesday.
About 200 people died in the violence arising from the disparity between the Awami League and BNP over the 10 th parliamentary elections.
