Biye Birombona – a comedy play will be staged by theatre group Natukey today at 6pm at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shipakala Academy.
Biye Birombona is an adaption of the greatest comedian Moliere’s The Forced Marriage. Directed by Al Nomaan, this is the 73rd staging of the play.
Nomaan, Nithor Mahbub, Moni, Shimul, Rinku, Shaymol, Rayhan, Arif, Khokon, Javed, Merin and Hannan Sagor acted in different characters. Nomaan and Moni are playing the lead roles.
Plot of the play revolves around a fifty three year old man who wishes to get married. His name is Bomkesh Chokkotir and finally he decides to marry a girl named Ketoki Bhotto who is from an elegant and well-known family and is only sixteen years old. But later, the old man realises that she has agreed on the marriage due to his vast wealth. Confused and agitated, he goes to several people for advice, which only increases his dilemma.
