Four Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) were transferred from Gaibandha on Tuesday, two days after the 10th parliamentary elections in the country.
The district’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the transfer to the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday night.
However, when asked, the official said transfer was part of routine work and normal.
UNOs carry out executive works based on the decision of the government in upazila levels.
The UNOs are Ahsan Habib of Sundarganj upazila, Syed Farhad Hossain of Sadullapur upazila, M Tofazzal Hossain of Palashbari upazila and Ashrafuzzaman of Gobindaganj upazila.
Earlier on Monday, the Election Commission asked for withdrawal of Gaibandha’s deputy commissioner and police superintendent.
