A patient allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the sixth-floor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hafiz, 24, hailed from Narayanganj.
Hafiz was admitted to the hospital on January 5 when he tried to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills over love affair.
DMCH Ansar Commander Abdul Khalek told the Dhaka Tribune that he jumped off the sixth-floor around 5am.
He said: “Hafiz was rushed to the hospital’s ICU [Intensive Care Unit] where he succumbed to his injuries around 7:40am.”
