Bogra police station attacked

Opposition supporters attacked a police station in Gabtoli upazila, Bogra on Sunday morning during the polls for 10th parliament throughout the country.

Meanwhile, voting through 10 polling centres in the upazila was postponed for security.

The incident took place during a nationwide anti-polls hartal of the BNP-led 18-party alliance.

About a hundred opposition activists attacked Gabtoli Police Station around 9:30am, Bogra police Additional Superintendent Abu Sayeed said.

Meanwhile, the voting in 10 polling centres of Bogra-7 constituency, Gabtali upazila, were suspended, deputy commissioner and Returning Officer Yunus Ali said.

Voting was poor as observed in the first hour on Sunday morning. Only five votes were cast in Taherunnisa High School and Kahalu High School.
