Five handmade bombs were hurled in the district council office in Lalmonirhat town on Saturday night.
Sources said five handmade bombs were hurled in the district council office around 10:15pm while two were hurled targeting a polling centre at Jongra High School in Jongra villagePatgramupazilaaround 10pm.
Police said anti-election campaigners ransacked six polling centres at Bawra, Burimari and Kafirbazar, Paruliya, Haratai and Fakirertokeya villages from 9pm till 10pm.
District council administrator, also district AwamiLeague General Secretary Advocate Motiar Rahman said opposition men have been attacking on polling centres to create panicky among the voters.
Lalmonirhat Superintendent of Police Habibur Rahman said security has been tightened in all the polling centresof the district in order to hold peaceful polls.
