Four people were injured in separate clashes between law enforcers and Chhatra League with hartal supporters in Jessore on Saturday.
Jessore Assistant Superintendent of Police, Reshma Sharmin told the Dhaka Tribune that four people, including two Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel were injured in separate clashes at Rupdia and Daratana in the town on Saturday.
She said: “Two people were injured when RAB locked in a clash with hartal supporters as they threw stones targeting the law enforcers’ vehicle in Rupdia while two others were injured in an Awami League and BNP clash in Daratana.”
The hartal supporters also damaged the vehicle of the police.
She said the joint forces picked up 10 people from Rupdia for attacking RAB and a police vehicle.
Jessore BNP unit General Secretary, Syed Saberul Haque Sabu claimed that four of their members were injured in the clashes.
He said the joint forces went on a rampage at Narendrapur in the name of operation and damaged several houses.
