Police sued over 42 people on Thursday for acts of vandalism and blasts conducted in Chittagong during the first day of non-stop countrywide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance.
Police filed the case with the Kotwali police station early Thursday, mentioning the names of 32 people including Chittagong Metropolitan Shibir (North) President Mashrur Rahman.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Kotwali Circle), Mirza Saiem Mahmud said police filed the case for alleged involvement in vandalism and blasts conducted in the district on Wednesday that injured a driver of Somoy TV channel.
Earlier on Wednesday, some 30 crude bombs were explodedand 15 vehicles were vandalised during a blockade in Chittagong.
