Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday warned the people of conspiracy against January 5 polls as the actors of 2007 are active again with multifaceted conspiracy to foil the polls to pave way for undemocratic force.
The Prime Minister said this while addressing an election meeting in support of Awami League candidate Kamal Ahmed Majumder at Mirpur Adarsha High School ground in the capital, reports BSS.
The Awami League president said the election should be held for continuation of democracy and development. Hasina said the actors of 2007 get importance when there is no democracy in the country. She urged people to remain careful about those elements.
“It is beyond doubt that the election will be held completely in a free, fair and neutral manner and no evil design to foil the election will be successful,” she said.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh would be a middle-income country by 2021 and the country will transcend the stage by 2041 to be a rich one if the Awami League remains in power.
Extending her thanks for giving vote to party candidate Kamal Majumder in the last election, the Prime Minister urged them to register their support again to him in January 5 polls.
Sheikh Hasina said BNP didn't come to the polls without Jamaat. But Jamaat was declared disqualified by the High Court to take part in the election because of its terrorist background.
"BNP is a party completely devoid of democracy and the party only knows how to kill people and unleash terrorism and indulge in corruption," the PM said.
Urging people to exercise their votes franchise on January 5 polls, the premier asked them to resist the anti-election elements who would create obstacle on smooth polling.
