A youth was killed in a clash took place between law enforcers and Shibir men in Bazar Road area of Chowdhurypara in the capital’s Malibagh on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Mansur.
He was a resident of Biman Bandar area and a college student of Uttara.
However, the details of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Sergeant Selim told Dhaka Tribune police personnel chased a group of Shibir activists when they tried to bring out a procession in front of Padma Cinema Hall in the area at 11:30am. At the time, the Shibir men pelted brick chips at police that triggered a clash, leaving a man injured. Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
DMCH outpost in-charge inspector Muzammel Haq said an injured man was admitted to the hospital where duty doctor declared him dead at 12:15pm.
The injured man was carried by a CNG-run auto rickshaw from the capital’s Malibagh, he added.
