Bangladesh sends 2 units of police to South Sudan

Bangladesh government has sent two units of Formed Police Unit to South Sudan for the Peacekeeping Missions of the United Nations.

Police Headquarters sources said the two units, comprising of 72 police, have reached South Sudan on Friday, to help the country’s Internally Displaced People (IDP).

The two units were sent to South Sudan on a request made by the UN’s Peacekeeping Missions, following the deterioration of law and order situation in the country.

Bangladesh has been taking part in Peacekeeping Missions since 1989 and it ranks first among the countries which send forces in UN’s Peacekeeping Missions.
