Supreme Court Bar Association on Saturday protested nabbing of its secretary AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon terming the case in which he was shown arrest as baseless.
AJ Mohammad Ali, president of the organisation, demanded his release including withdrawal of the case at a briefing held at SCBA.
He said Khokon was victim of political vengeance as he led the lawyers for democratic movement.
After the press conference, pro-BNP lawyers brought out a procession at the Supreme Court premises demanding Khokon’s release.
They also chanted slogans against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government.
The BNP joint secretary was picked up from Matsya Bhaban on Thursday.
