Marking the month of victory, We Foundation celebrated the splendid triumph of Bangladesh in the 1971 war, with twenty underprivileged children from We School on December 25 at Nandos. The event was arranged with the aim of educating and explaining the nine months struggle of the freedom fighters to the upcoming generations of Bangladesh.
Freedom fighter Babu Sarwar singer Fahmida Nabi, actor Omar Sunny and media personality Abdul Nur Tushar were present in the event. Babu Sarwar shared his experience of the war and joining the freedom fighters. Fahmida Nabi stressed the importance of educating the coming generation about the history of the country and its struggle for independence. Celebrated actor Omar Sunny expressed his satisfaction in being a part of the programme.
Jannatul Ferdous Peya, the vice president of the foundation said: “Besides educating the underprivileged children, it is our responsibility as a citizen, to give them a better environment and make them aware of the struggle of the previous generation for the liberated country, in which they now reside.”
We Foundation aims to provide education and other social developmental works, in order to make a difference. Currently it is operating in three difference locations—Dhaka, Gazipur and Pabna – providing education to around 500 underprivileged children.
