Police intercepted Ganajagaran Mancha’s procession that was heading towards the foreign ministry on Sunday noon demanding the cancellation of Bangladesh’s diplomatic relation with Pakistan.
Later, a six member delegation of the Mancha, including Imran H Sarkar, Maruf Rasul, Manjur Moin, Habib Imran Ruman, Shamima Sultana Shaon, and Iqramul Haq went to the foreign ministry with a memorandum containing the demand at around 12:15pm.
They are set to submit a letter of protest with the home ministry, Manjur Moin, Mancha organiser told the Dhaka Tribune.
Earlier on Thursday, police and the Ganajagaran Mancha activists were locked in a scuffle when the activists were marching to the Pakistan High Commission in the city’s Gulshan area demanding cancellation of all diplomatic relations with Islamabad.
Law enforcers also charged batons on the activists who were chanting slogans condemning the Pakistani parliament's resolution on Quader Molla.
