Chhayanaut’s classical music festival begins today

Chhayanaut is holding a two-day classical music festival (both vocal and instrumental) at its main auditorium from today. The festival comprises three sessions – first from 6pm to 10:30pm on the opening day, second from 9am to 1pm tomorrow and the same day features the concluding session starting from 7pm which will come to an end on Saturday morning.

The festival will see participation of noted local and two Indian vocal artistes – Saurav Kumar Nahar and Tushar Dutta who will perform on the first session and third session respectively.

Vocalists Amaresh Roy Chowdhury and Latifun Julio, and mohan veena player Dolon Kanungo will perform on the opening day. The second session will feature Satindranath Halder, Bijon Chandra Mistry and Alok Sen in vocal renditions and instrumentalists Shiwly Bhattacharjee (violin) and Iftekharul Alam Pradhan (tabla).

The concluding session will see Khairul Anam Shakil, Fakir Shahidul Islam, Anil Kumar Saha, Rezwan Ali, Asit Dey and Priyanka Gope performing vocal music while Ebadul Haque Saikat, Md Maniruzzaman and Swarup Hossain will be playing violin, flute and tabla. Besides, Chhayanaut artistes will present group performances in every session.
