Train communication on Lalmonirhat-Burimari route remained suspended on Tuesday as the Jamaat-Shibir activists removed about 100 fishplates of the railway track in Bawra and Awliarhat areas of Patgram upazila.
The blockade supporters have also put timbers on the rail line in different areas to block the train communication.
Sazzad Hossain, emergency officer of train control room in Lalmonirhat Railway Division, said they stopped running train on the route since 5am because of the fishplates’ removal.
Quoting witnesses, Lalmonirhat Railway GRP police station Officer-in-charge Shamsul Alam said Jamaat-Shibir activists removed railway fishplates and put blockade at some points on the route.
