A policeman, who is also the son of a local Awami League leader, was assaulted in Moheshpur upazila, Jhenaidah Saturday night.
The injured was Rokanazzuman, 26, son of local Awami League leader Rowshan Ali, a constable stationed at Islamic University police station.
Locals said miscreants attacked when Rokanuzzaman was having tea with his friends near Khalishpur Bazar area around 7pm.
Father Rowshan Ali blamed his rival, named Zia, for the assault.
Moheshpur police Officer-in-Charge Akram Hossain said he did not know about this.
