Khulna rail communication with other parts of the country resumed nearly 18 hours after miscreants uprooted tracks in Shingai area under sadar upazila in Jessore.
Our Correspondent reports, the railway communications were restored around 7am on Friday.
Jessore railway station Master Manik Chandra Sirkar told the Dhaka Tribune that several hundred unruly mob uprooted the rail tracks near Shingia railway station under Jessore sadar upazila after the Appellate Division of Supreme Court rejected war criminal Quader Mullah’s plea for review petition around 12:30pm on Thursday.
He said: “The mob took position near the rail track till night.”
Jessore Assistant Superintendent of police Reshma Sharmin said Rapid Action Battalion, Border Guard Bangladesh and police had gone to the spot to bring the situation under control.
