The Bangladesh Railway (BR) authorities have termed the decision of cancellation of railway services across the country for Friday as ‘rumour’.
Zahirul Haque, Bangladesh Railway’s Director of operation wing told the Dhaka Tribune on Thursday night.
“A section of vested quarter has spread out such a rumour regarding the cancellation of railway operations in the country immediate after the execution of war crimes convict Jamaat Islami leader Abdul Quader Molla on Thursday night,” said the official.
Denying such a rumour, Zahirul said: “The railway services will remain as it is.”
Earlier at night, a railway official told the Dhaka Tribune that all scheduled services for Friday were cancelled across the country for security reasons.
