The meeting between visiting UN envoy Oscar Fernandez-Taranco and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been cancelled.
The meeting has been cancelled as both Taranco and the prime minister are going through busy schedules, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said.
“The meeting was rescheduled for Wednesday instead of Tuesday on Taranco’s request,” he said.
The envoy is in Bangladesh on deputation of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for what is being said "to broker a political deal" ahead of the elections.
