Three people were injured as a lighter vessel caught fire on the Karnafuli river in Chittagong on Tuesday morning.
The identities of the injured could not be known immediately.
Our correspondent reports, the fire originated from a short circuit at the engine room of oil-laden MT Kingfisher when it was anchored at the shore of Karnafuli river around 9:10am, leaving three people injured in the incident.
Officer-in-Charge of Chittagong Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Abdul Monsur confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
However, firefighters have brought the blaze under control.
