President Abdul Hamid will fly for South Africa on Monday to attend the funeral of anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, Bangabhaban officials said.
Former South African President Nelson Mandela died at his Johannesburg home on Thursday after a prolonged lung infection.
Bangladesh has expressed solidarity and has called for three days of mourning.
Nelson Mandela will be laid to rest on the December 15 in Qunu in the Eastern Cape province.
Mandela visited Dhaka in March 1997 to celebrate Bangladesh’s 25th year of independence. At the time, he was the president of South Africa.
