The 24-hour hartal which was set to be enforced from Sunday morning has been reduced by 12 hours.
According to the revised timing, the hartal would be observed from 6am to 6pm on Sunday, BNP’s Assistant Office Secretary Shamimur Rahman told reporters.
Earlier, BNP's Dhaka city unit declared the shutdown protesting the arrest of party Vice-Chairman Sadeq Hossain Khoka on Wednesday.
However, the 72-hour blockade being enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance since Saturday morning continues.
